PacIP6 2007: First Pacific Islands IPv6 Summit


PacIP6 2007 - the first Pacific Islands IPv6 Summit - was held during PacINET 2007, the Pacific Island region's largest ICT conference in Honiara, Solomon Islands from August 15th to 16th.

Over 200 delegates attended PacIP6 2007. The first day addressed the latest developments in the IPv6 world and the second day was devoted to hands-on IPv6 training provided by Asia Pacific Network Information Centre (APNIC). The training programme proved to be very popular and was repeated later in the week due to popular demand. Some 70 individuals from the region participated in the training programme.

Speakers at PacIP6 2007 included leading regional and international IPv6 experts. Rajnesh Singh, President of the IPv6 Forum Pacific Islands also relayed a report on the Pacific's first IPv6 deployment by the University of the South Pacific.
